Description
The covered wagon type 11-7038 is designed for transportation by rail of 1520 mm tarpaulin-piece cargoes of a wide range requiring protection from atmospheric precipitation.
It is most practical for transporting light and bulky goods. Its capacity is 25% more than that of a standard universal wagon.

Description
The сovered wagon model 11-280 is intended for transportation of the tare-piece, packaged and some types of the loose (grain) freights demanding protection from atmospheric precipitation, on Railways of 1520 mm.
The chassis consists of two 2-axle bogies model 18-100, wheel pairs which are equipped with roller bearings.
The trolleys can be mounted on wheel pairs with a gauge of 1435 mm.
The wagon is equipped with:
- automatic coupling SA-3 and absorbing apparatus PMK-110A;
- automatic brake with air distributor № 483M,
- lever transmission regulator № 574B,
- automatic cargo № 265A-1,
- parking brake.
All bearing elements of the wagon are made of low-alloy steel 09G2D. The body is all-metal. In each side wall there are four loading hatches with ventilation grilles and a doorway, which is closed by two longitudinally moving doors. The roof is all-metal, removable during repair. The walls of the wagon and the doors from the inside are sheathed with plywood of coniferous species. The roof is sewn from the inside with fibreboard. The floor of the wagon can be wooden or metal from corrugated sheet. Inside the wagon is provided with elements for fastening of package cargoes.
