Description
The wagon model 19-970-01 is designed for transportation of bulk grain and other lightweight powdery and granular materials, requiring protection from precipitation, with gravity loading and unloading of the wagon into the inter-rail space. The wagon is operated on the entire railway of 1520 mm.
The wagon consists of an all-metal welded body with bunkers and closing mechanisms of unloading hatches, running parts, brake, automatic coupling and other equipment.
To ensure the rise to the roof and descent into the wagon through the middle hatch opening in the roof, the wagon is equipped with external and internal stairs.
Loading of the wagon is carried out through the loading hatches located on the roof, which provide the possibility of loading using standard stationary loading devices. Loading hatches are equipped with covers and locking mechanisms, providing centralized sealing on the transition area.
Unloading of wagon is done through the loading hatches of silos in inter-rail-space. Unloading hatches are equipped with covers, which are opened and closed in pairs by means of manual unloading mechanisms. Lids unloading hatches have a rubber seal for a snug fit to the neck of the hopper and eliminating spillage of the cargo during the transportation process.
The applied design decisions of the hopper-grain carrier provide its maintainability and interchangeability of the main parts.

Description
The hopper wagon 19-4109-01 is designed for transportation of grain and other similar food cargoes in bulk via the 1520 mm gauge main railway network, ensuring protection of the transported cargo from atmospheric effects.
The wagon is a covered six-bunker all-metal body structure that provides the possibility of mechanized gravity loading through the loading hatches on the roof of the wagon and full gravity unloading into the inter-rail space through the lower hatches. Design features provide improved performance of the car:
- the side wall of the wagon has a smooth transition to the roof of the body;
- contact of the body frame with the load is excluded, which allows to produce sheathing of low-alloy steel;
- increased from 51 to 55 degrees angle of inclination of the walls of the bins, which will ensure maximum bulking of transported goods;
- the wagon is equipped with anti-vacuum valves, which allows unloading with closed top hatches and avoid deformation of the roof during unloading;
- loading and unloading hatches are equipped with sealing devices around the perimeter, eliminating the loss of cargo and moisture inside;
- unloading mechanism has a manual drive.
